Exercise is a waste of time
(Fit for life of fit for strife?)

Exercise is waste of precious time which could otherwise be spent much more constructively. How many times have you heard that one before? Even worse than having heard it, are you a subscriber to this misguided and malajusted theory? If so, then it could well be that you are fit for strife rather than life, which is not a good place to be.

Exercise is a waste of time. Apart from the fact that vigorous physical activity elevates mood (by supplying a steady stream of ‘feel good’ endorphins to the blood stream), thus ensuring that you don’t waste too much time feeling depressed or low. It also helps to dispel dangerous toxins from the body (sweating), and improves circulation and bone density, so that you don’t waste too much time being ill or lying in hospital. Exercise will improve stamina, energy levels, flexibility, muscle tone and weight control, so that you won’t waste so much time feeling lacklustre or low in confidence, and physical exercise improves sexual function and ardour, so you won’t waste time looking for miracle pills or visiting a counselor. Apart from all the above examples, of course it could well be that exercise is just a plain old waste of time.

Maybe you prefer to begin your day by cranking yourself into an artificial caffeine high, in order to ‘get you going’. This will indeed get you going, but you most certainly will also ‘crash’ at some point later in the day, unless you keep on cranking the caffeine, upping the dosage, until your body finally becomes immune to it and starts to fall apart from all the stress of unnatural stimulation.
On the other hand, a day started with a natural endorphin high will ensure that your mood and stress levels are supported and maintained throughout the day, certainly for longer periods than if you are relying on coffee, which gives a short, harsh (and nasty) jolt to the system and then quickly fades, leaving you even more tired than before.

So one or two hours spent each day exercising for fitness, health, vigour, heightened energy levels and stamina, weight control, strength, flexibility or, just about any other reason you care to mention, is, as you have probably surmised, a total waste of time_if you want to live a lacklustre and sickly life. You make your bed, you lie in it. And how many people do you know who spend at least two hours each day watching T.V.?
